Regular listeners will know that this year I have resisted the urge to introduce too many solo instruments; choosing to let the music grow slowly. The pitch-class set drones, representing circumstances, remain but voices are gradually appearing in the distance. Today, it is the turn of the flute section, adding contrast to the lower pitched instruments of the last few days. The palette of notes increases and Spring awakes. What do you think?
